Earn more caviar with a Super VOBIS Yearling

Buyers at the upcoming Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale in two weeks’ time are going to be afforded even more opportunities to win big in the ownership stakes, with confirmation that over 430 yearlings catalogued for the Victorian sale are Super VOBIS qualified.

Black Caviar continues to be a fantastic ambassador for Victoria, having been bred and sold in the state. The undefeated mare’s sire Bel Esprit stands in Victoria at Eliza Park, just as her damsire Desert Sun did from 1999 until retirement in 2010.

All 25 yearlings by Bel Esprit that are catalogued for this year’s Melbourne Premier are amongst the 430+ lots in the sale that have been nominated for Super VOBIS.

Super VOBIS gives owners additional financial rewards when their horses are successful on Victorian racetracks, in addition to the thrill of cheering home a winner as Black Caviar’s connections have been lucky to do so 23 times.

Super VOBIS offers bonuses ranging from $9,000 to $30,000 on a range of two and three-year-old races.

“The quality of Premier yearlings presented to us during the on farm inspections the last two weeks has been fantastic,” said Inglis Melbourne Director Peter Heagney.

“Vendors will start arriving with their drafts at Oaklands from next Monday and we look forward to welcoming all buyers out to the complex to inspect the yearlings that will be offered at the four day sale,” Heagney said.

Buyers of a Super VOBIS qualified yearling are also able to nominate their purchase for VOBIS Gold with a one-off payment of $1,100 by 30 June 2013.

VOBIS Gold nominated horses will race for $20,000 bonuses throughout their entire career. In addition, five races for VOBIS Gold-only juveniles feature on the calendar, with the next event – the $280,000 VOBIS Gold Rush – to be run at Bendigo on Saturday, 16 March.

When fully operational, VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS will collectively offer $18 million in bonuses for nominated horses.
