Pierro colt Bellevue Hill (ex Bellevue Girl, pictured) dominated the G3 The Schweppervescence at Rosehill with a strong all the way win to mark himself one of the best 2YO colts in Australia.
He was purchased at the 2018 Australian Easter Yearling Sale by a syndicate including Gai Waterhouse, BlueSky Bloodstock, RIFA Mustang and Raffles Racing for $400,000 and sold by Aquis Farm who have remained in the ownership.
The colt will now run in the G1 Inglis Sires at Randwick next Saturday, where he is among the leading chances.
Co-trainer Adrian Bott was optimistic of the horses chances in the race and believes he has a very nice colt going forward.
“We were really confident with the horse,” Bott said.
“The conditions were the concern today but he seemed to relish them once he begun well and he looked to travel well throughout.
“We wanted to see a strong performance like that to top him off for the Sires.
“I would be very confident with him going forward.”
The race was a quinella for Inglis Easter graduates, with Strasbourg coming home well for second.
There are six colts and eight fillies by Pierro in the 2019 Australian Easter Yearling Sale catalogue.
Taikomochi made it a race to race double for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott with Inglis Easter graduates, impressively fighting off all challengers to win the G3 Neville Selwood Stakes.
Gai Waterhouse teamed up with BBA Ireland to purchase the son of Snitzel for $180,000 when offered by Kitchwin Hills.
There are 20 colts and 17 fillies by Snitzel in the 2019 Australian Easter Yearling Sale catalogue.
Mystery Love also won the Bendigo Guineas with a tough win for trainer Mick Price.
Raced by Carbine Thoroughbreds, the daughter of Eurozone was sold twice at Inglis sales.
Firstly as a weanling, when at the Great Southern Sale where she was purchased by Rushton Park for $14,000.
She then proved a successful pinhook when Rushton Park offered the filly at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, where she realised $75,000.
Meanwhile Inglis Ready2Race graduate Cosmic Alert won listed Laelia Stakes in Adelaide.
The daughter of Star Witness was offered by Golden Grove Stud and is trained by Will Clarken.
