Eight Eligible for MV $100K Inglis Series Bonus

Tomorrow night’s Inglis Series 1200 Plate (1200m) at Moonee Valley has attracted a field of 10, with eight of those runners eligible for the latest $100,000 bonus in the $2.5M Inglis Race Series.

The Inglis runners will be competing for a total prize pool of $150,000, including the $50,000 race prizemoney.

Rodney Douglas has chosen the event to kick off the career of $650,000 Easter graduate Daria (Redoute’s Choice-Zaldivar), while $40,000 Classic graduate Lion Divine (Lion Heart-Queen The Divine) also makes his debut.

Capacitor ($40,000 Premier, Charge Forward-Electric Choice) and Miss Aviatrix ($85,000 Premier, Dash For Cash-Rose In Flight) come off strong debut wins in chasing the big bonus money.

The other eligible runners are: Helpmann ($50,000 Premier, Choisir-Ozdanz), Xenophon ($150,000 Classic, Show A Heart-Overdue Reaction), I’m The Fiddle ($110,000 Premier, Tale Of The Cat-Zaraffa) and Yasmac ($35,000 Premier, Testa Rossa-Postage Due).

Bonus winners this season include the Gary Portelli trained Delago Bolt, who goes into Saturday’s $3.5M Golden Slipper after a cavalier win in last month’s LR Black Opal Stakes.

The next race in the $2.5M Inglis Race Series will be held at Wagga Wagga on Town Plate Day, April 30.

All yearlings purchased from Inglis sales are eligible for the race series, with nominations for next season’s series closing on July 31.

Buyers’ next opportunity to secure an Inglis yearling starts this Sunday, with the 2009 Australian Easter Yearling Sale, beginning from 1pm.
