Entries close this Friday 13 March for Australia’s first major breeding stock sale of 2015, the Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale in Sydney.
A complete dispersal of over 50 race fillies, weanlings and mares from a leading breeder has already been confirmed for the May sale, plus strong drafts from Kitchwin Hills, Segenhoe Stud, Newhaven Park, Arrowfield Stud, Widden Stud and Darley.
Free entry into the select session for all weanlings by first season sires is proving popular with the progeny of Pierro, All Too Hard, Dalakhani, Excelebration, Bullet Train and others already entered. The Platinum Session which will offer those weanlings with x-rays supplied has been extremely popular and will give buyers plenty of confidence to invest in pin hooking opportunities at the sale.
“An exciting line-up of weanlings by proven and young sires are flowing in and our team are compiling an appealing array of stakes winning mares off the track as well as proven producers that will draw plenty of buyers here to Newmarket in May,” said Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.
The Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale moved to May for this first time last year with great success, and 2015 is shaping up to again deliver for buyers and sellers. Last year the average price rose 48% in the weanling section of the sale which also achieved a record clearance rate of 87%.
“Buyers and vendors appreciated the break after the Easter Yearling Sale last year as well as being able to trade both weanlings and broodmares over a compact three day period. This allows studs and smaller breeders the chance to reduce staffing and catch up on other jobs around their properties in late May and June without having horses in stables.
“Early payment by mid-June was also well received and something we look forward to offering our supporters again this year,” D’Arcy adds.
The Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale will be held on 3, 4 & 5 May 2015 - 24 days after the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and 22 days after Day Two of The Championships at Randwick.
Owners of race fillies and mares competing during The Championships that are interested in selling their prized horses with Inglis are encouraged to contact the Inglis Bloodstock team at (02) 9399 7999.
