Nominations close this Friday July 31 for the Inglis Race Series for 2009 yearling graduates.
There is a minimum $2,600,000 in bonuses and races on offer across 22 races in NSW, VIC and ACT. Furthermore all nominations paid into the series are guaranteed to be dispersed as prize money.
The series will again commence with the $250,000 MVRC Inglis Juvenile for two-year-olds at Moonee Valley on October 24, 2009 (Cox Plate day) which is open to all nominated graduates.
The $250,000 AJC Inglis Nursery for two-year-olds to be run at Randwick on December 19 2009 (Villiers Day) is a new addition to the series and is also open to all nominated graduates.
Inglis & Sale Turf Club have combined to add a $100,000 three-year-old race to the race schedule. The new Inglis Trophy (handicap rating 0-82) will be run over 1400m on Sale Cup Day, not only as a part of the upcoming series but begins this year as a late addition to the current programme for the 2008 yearling crop.
Melbourne Premier, Sydney Classic, Autumn and Scone yearling sales will again all have select races restricted to graduates of those respective sales available to them.
Bonuses not won will again roll up into the Inglis Guineas over 1600m for three-year-olds, set down for Scone Cup day. This will be guaranteed for $250,000 and capped at $500,000 with any surplus funds allocated to additional three-year-old bonus races, to ensure an even spread across both racing seasons.
The trainer who wins the most races in the series will collect $50,000 for doing so.
This Saturday’s STC Rosebud Inglis Bonus is a great demonstration of the lucrative awards attached to the series. The 13 eligible graduates nominated will run for a potential winners purse of $162,000 when adding the $100,000 Inglis Bonus to base prize money of $42,000 and $20,000 BOBS.
