Entries Closing for Inglis' Sydney Sales This Spring

This Friday 7 August is the last chance to enter The Star Ready2Race Sale and the Inglis Spring Thoroughbred Sale, both to be held at Inglis' Newmarket Complex in Sydney.

Last year's Inglis Spring Thoroughbred Sale produced an impressive clearance rate of 88% with vendors and buyers recognising the advantages of trading both racing and breeding stock on the eve of the breeding season and the Spring Carnival.

The 2015 Inglis Spring Thoroughbred Sale will be held on Friday 14 August. Entry forms can be downloaded HERE, or CLICK HERE to enter online.

The Star Ready2Race Sale, to be conducted on Tuesday 6 October, is the region's only select two-year-old sale. This year breeze-ups will be held on the quality grass surfaces at Canterbury (New South Wales) on Friday 4 September, and at Cranbourne (Victoria) on Tuesday 8 September.

This year will be the third edition of the sale open to both two and three-year-olds, which has already produced impressive performers across several countries.

“Rod Northam’s Odyssey Moon is an ideal example of the success that can be had through this sale,” said Inglis’ Asia Representative Peter Twomey.

“Pinhooked by a small syndicate on a $25,000 initial investment and prepared by the trainer, the colt returned $120,000 at last year’s sale and went on to win at stakes-level on debut for his new owners just two months later,” said Twomey.

Further abroad Super Dragon won the HKJC Coral Sea Griffin Plate for Hong Kong trainer Me Tsui Yu-sak in May, just months after being sold for $170,000 from the Princes Farm draft.

Flying the flag for The Star Ready2Race Sale in Singapore are Genius and Excellent One, which finished their two-year-old season as the best-performed juveniles sourced from breeze-up sales in Australia and New Zealand. Both their vendors Muskoka Farm and Vantage Hill respectively, are currently preparing drafts for this year's sale.

The leading buyers from last year’s sale have already confirmed their attendance following pleasing results with previous The Star Ready2Race Sale purchases.

The early breeze-ups allow several weeks for DVDs to be hand-delivered to and considered by buyers around Australia, as well as Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, China and Korea.
