This year’s sale will be at Newmarket, Sydney, on June 24 and 25.

“This sale has quickly established itself as first class,” Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

“In each of the two years to date, vendors have achieved outstanding returns, with the buying bench eager to secure quality breeding stock close to the season.

“Furthermore, weanlings sold at the sale in both years have also been keenly sought after, selling up to $625,000”.

In its initial year, the sale achieved a new record price for a thoroughbred sold at auction in the southern hemisphere, when Milanova sold for $5million.

“Competition for well bred weanlings and mares remained very strong last year on a softer market and the rewards were there for those vendors prepared to send well-credentialed stock to sale,” Webster said.

“We’ve just seen how well that market has rebounded this year evidenced by the recent results of the Easter Broodmare Sale.”

The next Bloodstock sale for Inglis is at Oaklands, Melbourne and catalogues are now online.

The Great Southern Weanling Sale will be held on May 17 and 18, while the Great Southern Bloodstock Sale will continue from May 19 to 21.

Supplementaries close on Friday, May 7.
