Entries open for 2027 yearling sales

Entries for the 2027 Inglis Yearling Sales Series are now open.

Breeders who chose to sell with Inglis in 2026 were substantially rewarded, with Inglis yearlings averaging $166,443 - 32% higher than those sold through its nearest rival - and at a market-leading clearance rate of 83%.

Published turnover for Inglis live yearling auctions this year was $279,790,500, making it the only sales company in Australia to increase turnover year-on-year, despite offering 617 less yearlings than the other major Australian auction house.

Inglis sold more yearlings for $100,000+, $200,000+, $500,000+, $750,000+ and $1m+ than its nearest competitor.

The extraordinary buying bench Inglis generated for its sales in 2026 led to 55 vendors grossing $1m or more and 81 vendors grossing $500,000+ while this year’s sales series again confirmed Inglis sales as having the most appeal to international buyers, with international spend landing at $50,129,500 or 68% more than at sales conducted by the nearest competitor.

Inglis will again host four yearling sales in 2027 – Classic (Feb 7-9), Premier (Feb 28-Mar 2), Easter (April 4-5) and HTBA (April 22).

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch said his team would be working closely with breeders and vendors over coming months to assist them in placing their yearlings in the right sales for them to achieve the best results in 2027.

“It’s been fantastic seeing so many vendors enjoy incredible results in 2026 but now it’s all about working with breeders on the 2027 sales and ensuring we do everything in our capacity to see more clients enjoy even better results in 2027,’’ Hutch said.

“We have been afforded fantastic opportunities by breeders, over the past few seasons in particular and while we are always looking to do better, the recent results have been hugely satisfying for our team.

“There isn’t a single primary metric where Inglis isn’t ahead of our rivals which is not only something we are really proud of but is a stark selling point to all breeders out there to consider Inglis sales for their stock in 2027.

“We have a great team that is getting stronger all the time, we work hard and are motivated to do well, all of which are significant positives for our clients when looking to do business with Inglis.”

Entries for the 2027 Inglis Yearling Sales Series close on August 14.
