Entries Open For Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale

Entries are now being accepted for the 2015 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale, Australia’s first major breeding stock sale which will run over three days from 3 May.

Inglis has a long history of offering the cream of bloodstock in Australia, with Broodmare and Weanling Sale results continuing to rise in recent years. The 2014 select weanling average was up 48 per cent and the select broodmare average was up 28 per cent, while the clearance rates for last year’s weanlings and broodmares was 87 per cent and 85 per cent respectively.

“We are proud to present the first opportunity in 2015 for vendors to offer breeding stock for sale, and the first chance for buyers to secure weanlings and broodmares offered for the year,” said Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

Inglis is offering free entry into the sale for all weanlings by first season sires. The sale will feature the initial Australian offering of youngsters by the highly anticipated stallions Pierro, All Too Hard, Your Song, Animal Kingdom, Excelebration, Dalakhani, Delago Deluxe, Americain, Bullet Train, Harbour Watch, Mulaazem and Squamosa.

Darley, Newgate Farm, Yarraman Park Stud, Coolmore, Newhaven Park, Widden Stud and Vinery Stud have already thrown their support behind the sale and will be among the many vendors that that will benefit from Australia’s best commission rates and fast payment guaranteed before the end of the financial year on 17 June.

Also being introduced following buyer feedback will be a separate offering within the Select session of the Weanling Sale for those weanlings with x-rays. Vendors can ensure entry into the Platinum session on the opening day of the sale by providing x-rays to the repository. As some vendors may choose to x-ray only some of their draft, Inglis will still offer weanlings not x-rayed in the Select session.

“The weanling market has become a very important part of the Australian industry and we feel by elevating a select group of weanlings by guaranteeing they are x-rayed will increase buyer confidence and in turn breeders' returns in the sale ring, which is why we are making it possible for buyers to select stock more carefully by holding the Platinum session on the first sale day,” D’Arcy said.

Entries to the 2015 Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale must be finalised by 6 March. Online entries can be lodged HERE. Hard-copy entry forms can also be downloaded HERE.
