Extreme Choice’s Dam Headlines Bell River Dispersal In Sydney

The dam of Blue Diamond Stakes winner Extreme Choice, carrying a full relation to Mick Price’s Group 1 winning two-year-old, has been confirmed among the Bell River Thoroughbred’s unreserved dispersal of mares at the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale in Sydney.

All 20 high-class mares from Andrew Ferguson’s Bell River Thoroughbreds will be dispersed in early May, in the same catalogue as Bell View Park Stud’s dispersal and the reductions from Gooree Park Stud and Thing Big Stud as previously announced for the sale.

Extremely will be offered in foal to Not A Single Doubt, alongside Lady Beckworth carrying a full sibling to Flippant, Feminine Wiles carrying a three-quarter-sibling to Neena Rock, Denman’s three-quarter-sister Talimena in foal to Not A Single Doubt, Demanding Queen in foal to Savabeel, the dam of Group 1 placed Scratch Me Lucky, a sister to the dam of First Seal, plus half-sisters to Group 1 winners Mirjulisa Lass, Once Were Wild and Captain Sonador. Other covering sires include Hinchinbrook, Dream Ahead, Hallowed Crown, Shooting To Win and Rubick.

The Bell River dispersal will also include stallion shares in Snitzel, Savabeel and Duporth.

“Watching a colt we bred win the Blue Diamond last weekend with my wife Georgie and son James was an absolute dream. We went to Mick’s [Price Racing] stables on Saturday afternoon and were so proud and lucky to spend half an hour with Extreme Choice,” said Andrew Ferguson of Bell River Thoroughbreds.

“From the first time we stepped into breeding ten years ago we did it our own way. We’ve made some great friends and thoroughly enjoyed being part of this industry, but it’s time,” Ferguson said.

The Bell River Thoroughbreds’ unreserved dispersal of mares is another great addition to the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale, which is being well supported by Australia’s leading breeders.

“The progeny of Bell River’s mares have sold into Australia’s leading stables in the past two years, highlighting the potential upside with these families. This dispersal gives breeders the opportunity to capitalise on the commercial breeding program that the Ferguson family have implemented so successfully over the last decade,” said Inglis National Bloodstock Manager Jonathan D’Arcy.
