First Season Sires To Feature At August Thoroughbred Sale

As we celebrate the southern hemisphere’s first foals in 2015, and while breeders across the country are cementing mating plans for their broodmares, several of Victoria’s leading stallion farms will proudly showcase their first season sires at the 2015 Inglis August Thoroughbred Sale from 10.00am on Friday 21 August at Inglis’ Oaklands Junction in Melbourne.

Victoria’s newest Thoroughbred breeding operation, Spendthrift Farm, will parade all four on their roster, which are each available on their lucrative ‘Share the Upside’ Program. Young American-bred sires Can The Man and Jimmy Creed will stand at $3,850 and $8,800 respectively (incl. GST), while leading USA second-crop sire and son of Medaglia d’Oro Warrior’s Reward (pictured) will stand at $11,000. Rounding off their offering is Gai Waterhouse’s Group 1 winning son of Redoute’s Choice, Hampton Court ($8,800 incl. GST).

Euroa’s Larneuk Stud has added a third stallion to its books with the attractive Group 2 winner Cluster (pictured), offering a great opportunity for breeders to access a well-performed son of Champion Sire Fastnet Rock for $6,600. Also by Fastnet Rock, Lauriston Park will present its stakes-winner Rock Hero, which carries the proven Sadler’s Wells cross that has produced 29 Stakes winners to runners to date.

Group 1 winning two-year-old Warhorse will step out for the first time since becoming the fifth addition to the Bombora Downs stallion roster. The well-related son of Champion Two-Year-Old sire General Nediym is the perfect outcross option, free of Danehill blood and standing at $7,700 (incl. GST). Finally, Ridgeview Park Stud’s impressive Grade 2 Breeders Cup Marathon-winner [London Bridge](http://ridgeviewpark.com.au/news/article/25/LONDON+BRIDGE+$4950+(inc) has arrived in Australia following wins in two continents. The winner of four of nine starts will stand for $4,950 (incl. GST).
