Fuddle Dee Duddle set for Scone Guineas

Top filly Fuddle Dee Duddle will return from a spell in the next fortnight ahead of a Sydney campaign aimed at the $400,000 Inglis Guineas at Scone in May.

Fuddle Dee Duddle's interstate campaign is part of managing part-owner Eddie Rigg's plan to split her and Bippo No Bungus this autumn.

Aiming Fuddle Dee Duddle at the Inglis Guineas (1400m) on May 18 has also allowed her to have a longer spell after a busy spring-summer campaign.

The daughter of Red Ransom won the Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) and should have gone closer in the WA Guineas (1600m), finishing an unlucky fourth to Academus.

She then ran a solid fifth, beaten two lengths, behind Luckygray in the Kingston Town Classic (1800m) before a fast-finishing second to Hard Ball Get in the Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic (1400m).

Bippo No Bungus, trained by Neville Parnham, gave Rigg a quinella in the Champion Fillies when she ran a close-up second.

The emerging filly was only a short half-head behind Academus when second in the WA Guineas.

She will be aimed at the $250,000 WA Oaks (2400m) on April 6, after likely resuming in the $80,000 Challenge Stakes (1500m) on February 23.

"I decided to split them up this autumn," Rigg said.

"Fuddle will be back in work in the next few weeks and she'll go east for the Inglis Guineas.

"She would have been a big chance for the WA Oaks but we're bypassing that and she's had a good spell. She's a good filly and we're hoping this is her year.

"Bippo probably has more racing in her and she's going to the Oaks."

Fuddle Dee Duddle will stay in the care of trainer Lindsey Smith while she campaigns interstate.

Fuddle Dee Duddle (pictured as yearling), a half-sister to Hallowell Belle, was bought by Rigg for $240,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling sale in Melbourne in 2011.
