Millionaire mare Generosity, winner of the G2 Challenge Stakes over 1000m at Randwick on Saturday at weight-for-age, will be offered for sale at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale in May.
At what was just her fourth start for the Chris Waller stable on Saturday, Generosity was chased home by four G1 winners in the Challenge - G1 Golden Slipper winner Marhoona, Mazu, Everest winner Giga Kick and Lightning Stakes winner Skybird.
She is just the third mare to win the race in the past 10 years, joining English and Passive Aggressive.
In the spring, at her second start for Waller, Generosity finished third in the G2 Shorts behind Joliestar and Briasa.
A granddaughter of top-class G1-winning sprinter Bel Mer, Generosity began her career in Western Australia, where she established herself as a sprinter of the highest quality under the care of Simon Miller.
Having won in Stakes company over 1400m, she ran third in the 2025 edition of the $4m The Quokka, beating multiple G1-winning sprinter Overpass in the process.
Generosity (pictured) is now likely to be targeted at the G1 Galaxy over 1100m at Rosehill on March 21, for which she is currently $7 joint second favourite with Ladbrokes.
“Generosity is a quality type with a lovely attitude and a fantastic horse to train,” champion trainer Chris Waller said.
“She has excellent natural speed and as her record shows, she is very versatile.
“With more racing still to come, she presents as a very exciting prospect over the next 12 months.”
Inglis Bloodstock Sales Manager Harry Bailey is delighted to have Generosity as one of the stars of what is set to be another fantastic Chairman’s Sale catalogue.
“I was at Randwick on Saturday to see her win, she is a very pretty mare and obviously exceptionally quick,” Bailey said.
“She will be hard to beat in the G1 Galaxy and there is a fantastic program of races for her after that, including the TJ Smith and a series of G1 sprints in Brisbane.
“Mares like this don’t come on the market very often and she makes a huge amount of appeal as a race filly and breeding prospect.
“The Chairman’s catalogue is coming together really nicely, with I Am Famous, a half sister to Everest winner Classique Legend in foal to The Autumn Sun, a trio of high-class mares from Proven Thoroughbreds including Cosmonova and a mare in foal to US sensation Not This Time amongst others already confirmed.”
In its short history, The Chairman’s Sale has become one of the most significant events on the global bloodstock calendar.
In 2025 fillies and mares off the track at The Chairman’s Sale averaged a staggering $879,222.
Highlight results at The Chairman’s Sale in recent years include the likes of Bella Nipotina ($4.2m) and Amelia’s Jewel ($3.8m) – both from last year’s auction – as well as Nimalee ($3.6m), Montefilia ($3.4m), She’s Extreme ($3.4m), Tutta La Vita ($3.2m), Estriella ($2.8m), Tiz Invincible ($2.8m), Shout The Bar ($2.7m), Celebrity Queen ($2.5m), Too Darn Lizzie ($2.4m), Icebath ($2.3m), Maastricht ($2.25m), Kimochi ($2.2m), In Her Time ($2.2m), I Am Me ($2m), Srikandi ($2m) etc.
This year’s format will mirror that of recent years – a late afternoon start at Riverside on Thursday May 7 with a ‘Where Elegance Meets Excellence’ theme.
Each of the past two G1 Golden Slipper-winning colts, Stay Inside and Shinzo, were sold in utero at the sale.
Other mares offered at Chairman’s include the dams of subsequent G1 winners Autumn Glow, Imperatriz, Home Affairs, Apocalyptic, She’s Extreme and international star In Italian amongst others.
And the profile of The Chairman’s Sale continues to grow with a series of big race results this past weekend.
“It was a big weekend for The Chairman’s Sale,” Bailey added.
“The dams of G1 Newmarket winner Caballus, G2 Reisling winner Chayan and G3 winner Pinito were all sourced at Chairman’s, while G2 Todman winner Paradoxium was sold in utero through the sale.”
