Entries into the $5 million Inglis Race Series for rising 2YOs that were offered at Inglis Yearling Sales this year are set to close tomorrow, 31 July 2014.
The series is growing a formidable reputation as the ‘Road To Group 1 Glory’ with Peggy Jean, Mossfun and Cosmic Endeavour all winning Inglis Race Series events this season then going on to win at the highest level in Australia.
Mossfun won the RL Inglis Nursery (1000m) in December on the road to taking out the world’s richest two-year-old event in April, the $3.5 million Group 1 ATC Golden Slipper (1200m).
Peggy Jean took out the RL Inglis Classic (1200m) on the way to Group 1 glory in the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m).
Cosmic Endeavour headed a Gai Waterhouse trifecta in the RL Inglis Guineas (1400m) on her road trip north and victory in the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm just five weeks after her Inglis Race Series triumph.
Additionally this racing season’s Lightning Stakes and W.S. Cox Plate were won by horses that competed as two-year-olds in the Inglis Race Series.
Lightning Stakes winner Snitzerland won the RL Inglis Premier (1200m) as a juvenile while Shamus Award finished third on debut in the Inglis Banner (1000m) at Moonee Valley twelve months before leading all the way in the 2013 W.S. Cox Plate.
To get on the ‘Road To Group 1 Glory’ yearlings that were sold or passed-in at Inglis Select Yearling Sales need to be nominated and paid up for the $5 million Inglis Race Series.
