God’s Own Filly Too Strong At Sale

Bargain priced filly God Help Her provided her local connections with a big thrill when taking out today's $100,000 Inglis Trophy (1400m) at Sale.

The daughter of Inglis Classic graduate God’s Own becomes the latest horse to prosper from the lucrative $2.6million Inglis Race Series, with today's race restricted to three-year-olds nominated to the series.

GOD HELP HER ($12,000 2009 Autumn, 3f God’s Own-Volkiss) was offered for sale by Ealing Park and secured by Andy Perdon. The filly was the first winner at Sale for the local syndicate put together by Andy & Sharyn.

From the stakes placed mare Volkiss (by Volksraad), God Help Her pulled away in the straight to a 2-1/2 length win over Off And Laughing ($22,000 Classic) and Queen Commander ($72,000 Classic).

Jockey Luke Nolan was very impressed with the filly’s performance at just her second start.

“She really really attacked the line and there’ll be plenty more wins in store for her that’s for sure,” Nolen said.

Today's Sale Cup meeting also saw Inglis auction an Churchill Downs filly, who was sold to Kerry Selleck for $34,000.

"The Sale Turf Club hosted an excellent meeting and God Help Us is a great advertisement for people looking to get into the industry for only a small outlay, having collected over five times her purchase price here today," Inglis Director Peter Heagney said.

"The Churchill Downs filly selling for $34,000 was also a great result for the Club and the sale concept is one which a number of others should look at," Heagney added.

Attention now turns to the 2010 Inglis Australian Racehorse Sale which will be held at Oaklands on Sunday November 14.
