Trainer Ciaron Maher says that talented filly Petits Filous will be sent for a short break before returning later in the spring for a possible tilt at the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington.
The exciting daughter of Street Boss extended her unbeaten record to three when scoring a most impressive victory in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
"She came through the race very well. She's nice and bright and she cleaned up most of her tucker," Maher told RSN radio yesterday.
"She'll head out to the farm now for a couple of weeks. She'll stay in work and we'll keep her ticking over but she'll have a bit of a break."
Maher said Petits Filous would be kept to sprint trips for the remainder of her campaign with her next run likely to be in the Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Wednesday 14 October, before a possible start in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on 31 October.
"She's still learning and she's still quite new and raw so you might expose her a little bit if we stretch her out too quickly," Maher said.
"I'm looking at the Blue Sapphire as her next run and if she is still in similar form, and depending on what colts are around, a race like the Coolmore would be on the cards."
