GROUP ONE PRODUCER A STAR PACKAGE AT INGLIS CHRISTMAS SALE

28th Nov 2007

As previously advised, William Inglis & Son will proceed with the first thoroughbred auction in Sydney post-EI next Friday, December 7 at Newmarket, with entries closing tomorrow for the Christmas Thoroughbred Sale. Catalogues which will be available online early next week at www.inglis.com.au

Great news for breeders is that renowned New South Wales nursery Riverslea Farm have entered some high-class breeding stock with pedigrees that are very current, none more so than the Grand Lodge (USA) mare Sensuous.

Sensuous’s first foal is Strategic News, who burst home in the final stages to land the Summer Cup (Gr 1) at Turrffontein in South Africa 10 days ago. Sensuous also has an outstanding yearling on the ground by Charge Forward and is a half-sister to the Sydney Group winners De France and Whistler. She is offered with a Snitzel colt at foot born on the 28/10/07 and is in foal to Snitzel LSD 18/11/07.

Chinese Whispers (NZ) is a daughter of Miss Finland’s broodmare sire Woodman. A winning half-sister to three stakes-horses including the Listed winning juvenile Sunrise Silence, Chinese Whispers has filly at foot by Starcraft born on the 30/9/07 and is in foal to Fastnet Rock LSD 25/10/07. Considering that a filly by Starcraft topped the opening session of Tattersalls December Foal Sale in Newmarket overnight, Chinese Whispers looks an attractive package.

No stallion has made a better start with his first runners than Exceed And Excel and Sunshine is being offered with a positive test to the Group 1 winning son of Danehill, LSD 6/10/07. Sunshine is a proven black type producer having already thrown the three-time Listed placed, metropolitan winner Teppanyaki and is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Juanmo.

“It’s a positive sign that Riverslea have entered quality mares like these into the Christmas Sale.” Inglis director Johnathan D’Arcy says. “With all the problems Sydney has had with EI, it’s great that with racing about to resume at Randwick on Saturday, we are doing our bit by putting on a sale in what we hope is a return to normal.”

Inglis bloodstock staff are still taking entries for the sale and are only too happy to go over the arrangements with anyone unsure of their obligations. Inglis are also moving forward with the December Mixed Thoroughbred Sale and Breeze Up Sale in Melbourne on December 14.
