Happy Hour For Patinack In Brisbane

Well-travelled galloper Hour Of Peril (pictured as yearling) made it a pleasing day in Brisbane for Patinack Farm on Saturday, when the four-year-old saluted in the Listed Tattersal’s Mile (1600m) at Eagle Farm.

Jockey Jeff Lloyd settled Hour Of Peril ($47,500 2009 Classic, 4g Fusaichi Pegasus-Revamp) back in the field and the decision to stick to the fence when rivals spread out in the straight paid dividends with the notable wet tracker galloping away to a two length victory over Topping and Carry Me Bluey.

“I thought the best option was to go back on him and get him relaxed so I could save him up fro one last run in the straight,” Lloyd said.

“Even though a few of the others wanted to get out wide I wasn’t too concerned sticking to the fence.

“This horse was gathering momemtum and finished strongly so I elected to keep him on that path,” added Lloyd.

Bred by Mr G Kelly, Hour Of Peril was sold to Patinack Farm for $47,500 from the draft of Manx Park at the 2009 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale.

The four-year-old has raced in Sydney, Canberra, Perth and now Brisbane, recording five wins and four placings from 24 career starts and earned over $210,000 for his connections.

Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm have had another strong season with gallopers purchased from the Inglis Sales, with Hour Of Peril joining fellow stakes winners Pane In The Glass, Wonderful Lass, Real Stolle, Shamardashing, Galizani, Kneeling, Maules Creek, No Evidence Needed and star juvenile All Too Hard.
