Inaugural Inglis Guineas Worth $770,000

Inglis have announced that the inaugural Inglis Guineas, to be run on Scone Cup Day, Friday May 14, 2010, will be the richest race in country Australia.

The $770,000 race includes a first prize of $500,000, with prizemoney paid down to 16th position.

A full breakdown of the prizemoney and current order of entry (Top 30) can be found HERE

All three-year-olds who were paid up for the inaugural Inglis Race Series (2008 graduates) are eligible to run in the 1600m set weights race at Scone.

“The initial $2.6M Race Series has been a great success and this race will be a wonderful way to bring the first series to a close,” Inglis Commercial Development Manager Matt Rudolph said.

“It is ideally timed to follow the Sydney Autumn Carnival and will be run over one of the best prepared courses in Australia.

“Three other races on the card – the Inglis Challenge, Dark Jewel and Scone Cup – feature prizemoney of $100,000, which brings the total amount on offer for the day above $1million.

“This meeting augurs well for the HTBA Inglis Scone Yearling Sale, which has been expanded to two days next year – on Thursday and Sunday,” Rudolph added.

“Vendors should be able to enter horses confident in the knowledge that a strong buying bench will be assembled, with many of Australia’s major players in town for the race meeting, which is part of Scone Horse Week.”
