Inglis Autumn Thoroughbred Sale Concludes In Sydney

4th May 2006

The third annual William Inglis & Son Autumn Thoroughbred Sale took place at Newmarket today with 111 horses generating gross receipts of $422,000 for an average of $3,802 at an excellent clearance rate of 95 per cent.

Danehill was responsible for both the sale-topper from the racehorse section and the top-priced broodmare. The top lot was his superbly bred son Gunpowder, a multiple winner bought by Inglis as agent for $36,000, while the top-priced broodmare was his daughter Caterina in foal to Mossman sold by Parsons Creek Farm for $34,000.

Inglis Director Jonathan D’Arcy was satisfied with the results and said:

“It was great to see strong competition in every category with broodmares selling extremely well. The racehorse section continues to strengthen with buyers present from most parts of Australia resulting in an excellent clearance rate and plenty of satisfied vendors.”
