Inglis Awarded By Australian Institute Of Export

Inglis , Australia 's leading thoroughbred auctioneers, have received a prestigious award from the Australian Institute of Export and the Premier of NSW for their outstanding achievements in bloodstock export sales. In an award ceremony held in Sydney this week Inglis was recognised for their success in attracting international participants to NSW and innovative approaches to generating exports sales.  Over the past 5 years Inglis has grown export sales from less than $20 million to more than $70 million per annum, an increase of 250%.

Inglis managing director, Mark Webster, commented "The Middle East, Asia, New Zealand , South Africa and Europe have all developed rapidly as export markets for Australian thoroughbreds and Inglis is leading the way in recruiting buyers for export and for inward investment. We have an experienced team of agents representing Inglis in all key markets. Although Inglis has been primarily self - sufficient in developing international markets, we plan on making greater use of the services offered by Aushorse and State and Federal Governments. We are also leveraging our close relationship with our newest shareholder, Tattersalls, to grow our sales to Europe . "

The internet bidding service introduced by Inglis in March of 2008 has also fast tracked the growth of export sales, with buyers throughout Asia purchasing Australian thoroughbreds via the internet.  The most expensive internet sale so far was a $600,000 yearling to a buyer from Hong Kong at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in April 2008. Inglis has also introduced an internet based X-Ray repository to assist international buyers with their buying decisions.  This was and continues to be a world first and has proven extremely popular with international buyers.

The next opportunity to purchase a thoroughbred from an Inglis sale is the Inglis Breeze Up & Racehorse Sale in Melbourne on Sunday October 26. This is the same weekend as the MVRC Tatts Cox Plate meeting at Moonee Valley which will feature the running of the inaugural $250,000 MVRC Inglis Juvenile for graduates nominated to the $2,500,000 Inglis Race Series.
