On the eve of star colt Brazen Beau’s final run of his career, Arthur & Charlotte Inglis welcomed clients and friends of Inglis to enjoy the Inglis Aussie Picnic in the Owners and Trainers Car Park after the days racing at the Newmarket July Course in England.
The atmosphere was electric and with Inglis having sold both Brazen Beau and his sire I Am Invincible, it was only fitting that Australia’s leading thoroughbred auctioneers play host to such a prelude.
Robert Hill-Smith, Chairman of Australia’s oldest family-owned winery Yalumba, co-hosted the party and ensured much fine Rosé and Chardonnay was enjoyed by a range of European and Australian racing personalities.
Australia’s favourite English Rose, Francesca Cumani and her Luca and Sara were among the plethora of international racing royalty in attendance at the picnic.
"This event is our way of thanking our European clients in their backyard but also celebrating Australian runners competing throughout the English flat season. What better way than with a glass of Yalumba after the last” remarked Inglis Vice-Chairman, Arthur Inglis.
A number of Brazen Beau’s 38 original owners were kicking back their heels and celebrating what has been a dream come true over the last 18 months.
Other faces in the crowd included Shadwell Supremo Angus Gold, Hugo Palmer, Hubie de Burgh and Jono Mills. Melbourne Racing Club head honcho Brodie Arnhold was no doubt getting the mail from Qatar Racing’s David Redvers about the fillies trained at his home track.
