Inglis Classic Bargain Wins Again in HK

Breednet - Tara Madgwick - Thursday, 20 January 2011

Promising Domesday three year-old Turbo King posted his third win from six starts when saluting at Happy Valley on Wednesday night.

The Manfred Man trained Turbo King took out a Class three event over 1200 metres by more than a length with Brett Prebble in the saddle, his overall record now three wins and two seconds from just six starts.

Turbo King (pictured as a yearling) was a bargain purchase, snapped up for just $18,000 from the Carramar Park draft at the 2009 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, the very same sale that also produced Domesday’s Group I winner Pressday for just $38,000.

Turbo King is the first foal of Alice’s Magic, an unraced Al Jaasi mare from the family of dual Group One winner Al Mansour.

A full brother to Turbo King was sold at the same sale last year to New Zealand agent Guy Mulcaster for $22,500.

Turbo King is one of 13 winners for Domesday, who is the sire of stakes-winners Pressday, Divorces and Backgammon.

Domesday has a quality draft of seven yearlings for this year’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale starting on Sunday, click here for pedigrees.
