Inglis Conduct 20th Malaysian National Stud Sale

Inglis conducted the Malaysian National Stud's 20th Anniversary National Premier Sale in Ipoh on Friday 23 November, enhancing the Australian bloodstock company's respected reputation in Asia.

Australian bred racehorses dominate the Malaysian Racing Association circuit, but Malaysian National Stud bred gallopers have been competitive this season with 25 winners in open company a solid result.

"Malaysian breds make up less than 5% of the population here so there is a lot of merit and encouragement now that the horses are proving truly competitive," said Stud Farm Manager Ray Knight.

29 two-year-olds were sold for a total of RM634,000 at Friday's sale with Inglis' Australian based Director's Jonathan D'Arcy and Peter Heagney auctioneering with assistance from Inglis Asia Representative Peter Twomey.

"Ray and the National Stud did the best possible job preparing the horses for sale. I've been traveling to Malaysia for 20 years and there was some good value buying completed today," said Heagney.

Full sale results will be available in the coming days on the Malaysian National Stud website HERE

All horses offered at the 2012 National Premier Sale are eligible for up to RM158,000 in bonuses guaranteed by Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd as the sale graduates make their way through the grades in Malaysia. This season's standout Malaysian bred galloper Beautiful Choice would have earned his connections RM51,000 in career bonuses under the new scheme.

This Sunday in Ipoh sees the running of the Malaysian Group 1 Coronation Cup, with Inglis Easter Sale graduate Speed Baby (by Fastnet Rock) the one to beat. The Baby Stable owned galloper has already won at the highest level three times on the MRA circuit, winning the 2010 Coronation Cup, 2011 Singapore Group 1 Patron's Bowl and at his most recent start this year the Malaysian Group 1 Piala Emas Sultan Selangor.

A sister to Speed Baby is amongst the 50 outstanding yearlings by Champion sire Fastnet Rock set to be offered at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on April 9 to 11 next year. The annual Easter Preview Magazine featuring the 600 yearlings entered in the Southern Hemisphere's leading sale will be released in the coming weeks.
