Inglis Ends Year On Solid Note At Oaklands

1st Dec 2005

A buoyant sale year concluded on an extremely positive note for William Inglis & Son as buyers thronged to the Oaklands sale complex in Melbourne today where 176 horses sold at an average of $7,045 achieving a gross of $1,240,000, a healthy increase of 32% over last year.

The clearance rate was a pleasing 93% with the three top lots sold being part of the Written Bloodstock dispersal. The top price of $180,000was achieved for Timeless Miss, the Flemington winning stakes placed filly, bought by Tullimbar Pty Ltd.

“It is always pleasing to complete the selling year on a high note and that was certainly the case today. The excellent clearance reflects the satisfaction from both buyers and sellers.

The good competition for racehorses augers well for our forthcoming Yearling Sales series” said Director, Peter Heagney.

Further stock from the Written Bloodstock Dispersal draft will be offered for sale at the William Inglis Summer Thoroughbred Sale at Newmarket on February 25.

The next sale in Melbourne will take place on the 5, 6 & 7 March 2006
