Inglis sale graduates have completed a highly successful Hong Kong season with 176 race wins.
Their strike rate of 23 per cent wins to races run has contributed strongly to the outstanding 44 per cent of wins to Australian bred horses.
Underlining their quality, Inglis graduates dominated with victories in nine of the eleven Group races that went the way of yearlings purchased at Australian sales. It was the most Group race victories by any auction house worldwide for the season.
Fittingly Sacred Kingdom, a three-time Group One winner this season, was crowned Champion Sprinter and Most Popular Horse Of The Year in addition to being crowned Horse Of The Year at the recent Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards presentation ceremony.
A $200,000 graduate of the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Sacred Kingdom has been rated the top turf sprinter in the world for the past three years.
He is yet another endorsement for Hong Kong yearling purchases from Inglis sales, adding to a long list that includes Fairy King Prawn, Lucky Owners, Silent Witness, Elegant Fashion, Floral Pegasus, Inspiration and Happy Zero.
"It is great to see our our Hong Kong clients enjoying so much success with their purchases," said Inglis Commercial Development Manager and Hong Kong Representative Matt Rudolph.
“Over the past two years they have been more active than ever at our Melbourne Premier and Easter Sales which bodes well for the continued success of Inglis graduates in Hong Kong.
“The timing of our sales fits in well with yearlings' development physically and preparation for Hong Kong thereafter, but most importantly breeders throughout Australasia are presenting the quality to succeed in such a tough environment.”
Inglis still remains the only auction house to have sold a winner of the Hong Kong International Sprint, starting with inaugural winner Fairy King Prawn and continuing through the likes of Silent Witness, Inspiration and Sacred Kingdom.
“We are very fortunate to have offered some of the true greats in Hong Kong’s history and look forward to the next one emerging,” Rudolph added.
