Inglis graduates shine in Brisbane

Inglis graduates landed a Group 2 winning treble on today’s big Eagle Farm card.

VARENNA MISS ($80,000 2009 Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale, 4m Redoute’s Choice-Mica’s Pride) highlighted the quality of horses likely to be offered at this month’s Inglis Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale when she took out the Group 2 QTC Cup.

The mare had been stakes placed this season and fully deserved to win a feature race, with her record now reading five wins in just nine starts for earnings of nearly $300,000.

HOT SNITZEL ($60,000 2010 Premier, 2g Snitzel-Flames Of Paris) gave his rivals a belting when a dominant winner of the Group 2 BRC Sires Produce Stakes.

The win was similar to his cavalier display in the Ken Russell Memorial at the Gold Coast last month.

The son of Snitzel, which was sold by Bellerive Stud, was secured by Triple Crown Syndications, with brothers Chris and Michael Ward now eyeing off a breakthrough Group 1 win for the outfit.

Hot Snitzel will back up in next week’s T.J. Smith Classic, where he is likely to start favourite to end Darley’s unbeaten run in this season’s Group 1 two-year-old features.

HURTLE MYRTLE ($55,000 2009 Classic, 4m Dane Shadow-Ravenswood) continued to reap rich rewards for her connections when taking the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes.

The Matthew Smith trained mare, who was prepared for sale by Kitchwin Hills Stud, was a Group 2 winner at Randwick in April and has been a wonderful money spinner since returning this season after the best part of a year on the sidelines.

Hyrtle Myrtle’s sire Dane Shadow is enjoying a great run of late and will attempt to continue his Queensland carnival run with Grand Prix winner Turnitup and South Australian Derby victor Shadows In The Sun in next week’s Queensland Derby.
