Australia’s leading thoroughbred auction house, Inglis, were at the forefront of the China Horse Industry again last weekend, with the company participating in the 2012 Consul General’s Polo Cup and Chinese Nine Dragons Hill Horse Racing Clubs League Trial Race Day.
Held at the immaculate Nine Dragons Hill Estate on the outskirts of Shanghai, Sunday’s exclusive event was hosted by Nine Dragons Horse Racing & Service Company. One of the key horse racing events since 2009, Nine Dragons Horse Racing & Service Company assembled racing stewards, horse racing club owners and industry participants from across China.
The weekend culminated in Polo Finals and five Horse Racing Club League races on Sunday afternoon. Nine Dragons Hill Polo and Jockey Club had also invited many affluent individuals from throughout China to enjoy Sunday’s festivities, with sponsors turning on a great day for all spectators and potential new owners.
“Inglis is very committed to participating in the China Horse Industry and it is always very pleasing to see our clients racehorses carry the brands of Australia’s leading breeders such as Eliza Park, Arrowfield, Emirates and Widden Stud to great success here in China,” said Inglis Asia Representative Peter Twomey, who was in Shanghai attending the event.
“Australian thoroughbreds are well-known throughout the racing world for being fast, tough, and precocious, all characteristics that make Australian bred racehorses the number one choice of owners and trainers in established markets such as Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
“China and Australia have a very strong relationship across many industries, with our close proximity, established and affordable transportation networks and similar climate a number of reasons why Australian bred racehorses thrive in China.
“Inglis certainly looks forward to assisting the development of the China horse industry for this wonderful country and its people,” Twomey said.
Inglis will continue to be involved in the Horse Racing Clubs League in China as it moves around various venues across China in the coming six months.
