Market leading innovator William Inglis & Son Ltd has today announced the introduction of a number of new vendor friendly incentives for breeding stock sales, whilst also retaining the popular incentive introduced last year: the Commission free sale of mares making $100,000 or more at the Australian Easter Broodmare Sale. The incentives will also apply to fillies, mares and weanlings sold at The Great Southern Sale to be held in May and the Australian Weanling & Breeding Stock Sale to be held in Sydney in late June. Set down for May 4, 5 & 6, The Australian Easter Broodmare Sale follows on from the Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which ensures its prominence on the international sales calendar. “In 2007 the Australian Easter Broodmare Sale set a new benchmark when Virage de Fortune sold to Darley Australia for an Australasian record $3,400,000,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster. “It’s the ideal location and time for vendors to sell, as overseas and domestic buyers attending have the added incentive of being hosted in one of the world’s best cities during the peak of the Autumn Racing Carnival.” “We will be committed to funding international buyers to attend the sale and have the ace up our sleeve with our new Live Internet Bidding Service that will allow our sale to reach a worldwide audience who can also take part in the auction.” New in 2008 are four initiatives that will maximise a vendor’s financial return from their breeding stock at The Australian Easter Broodmare Sale. 1. Select Session 2. Sale of in-foal mares from the Northern Hemisphere 3. The Family Deal 4.Inglis Rollover The timing of The Australian Weanling & Breeding Stock Sale allows studs plenty of time to prepare their weanlings following a compressed round of yearling sales in 2008 and the extra preparation time will ensure they look their best when entering the sale ring. The other great benefit of holding the sale in the last week of June is that good fillies coming off the track are still able to compete through the Winter Carnival Group One races prior to being sold at auction. It’s also a great time to be selling “tax mares” to the market. “The introduction of the Australian Weanling & Breeding Stock Sale has afforded us the opportunity to offer the unique Inglis Rollover incentive,” Webster pointed out. “And The Family Deal is great for those wanting to sell a mare and weanling in the same year, sometimes it suits to sell a mare early before the weanling is catalogued elsewhere and other times it’s better to sell them in the same sale.” Amongst international markets Inglis will be looking to target New Zealand pin hookers again for their major weanling sales in 2008 following on from their success at Karaka this week. “New Zealand vendors had a dozen Inglis pin hooks in Karaka Premier, sold them all and collectively tripled their investment so they’re very keen to come back.” Webster added. Entry forms will be mailed out over the coming week. To download an entry form now Click Here.
