An online auction of stallion nominations to raise funds for victims of the Victorian Bushfires and Queensland floods will begin this Monday, April 20, from 9am.
Inglis has developed a completely new online auction website in order to conduct this type of auction. The charity auction website can be accessed via the main Inglis website or directly by going to auction.inglis.com.au. The auction will be conducted with the support of NSW based volunteers Heather Studdy, Yatama Stud and Tristan Bryan, Meridian Estate Warmblood Stud. The proceeds will be donated to Project Hope Horse Welfare Victoria (PHHWV) to assist owners of all types of horses that are still suffering from the effects of the Victorian Bushfires and Queensland Floods.
Many owners are still to this date unable to feed their horses, with barren or drenched paddocks and many no longer have facilities to maintain the safety of their horses. Many horses still require expensive ongoing medical treatment and others are in need of rugs and shelter as winter approaches.
Approximately 250 stallion nominations or services from at least 24 different horse breeds have been donated by a wide range of stud farms in a united effort from the equine industry to support their own community in troubled times.
Stallion owners Tristan Bryan and Heather Studdy conceived the idea for this auction on Eques Online Horse Magazine, to help the entire equine community that has suffered in the fires and floods and Inglis have joined the cause in an effort to ensure the fund raising effort will achieve the worthy result that the cause deserves.
Money raised will be used to assist with the welfare of horses and their owners. Planning for this auction has been underway for several months as offers of donations from stallion owners have continued to roll in. The majority of the horses offered so far are from pleasure and performance breeds such as Arabians, Warmbloods, Quarter Horses and Welsh Ponies, noting this is where the idea started. There are 23 thoroughbred sires represented including Barely A Moment, Undoubtedly, Desert Sun, Tuscanos, Murphy’s Blue Boy, Umatilla, Half Hennessy, Brief Truce, Top Marc and Manner Hill.
The online auction starts at 9.00am sharp Monday April 20th, and close of bids will be staggered by breed, finalizing Friday April 24th.
To bid, go to auction.inglis.com.au and click on the register button. All categories of horses are listed alphabetically by breed, then by title with the date and time that bidding will cease for each stallion nomination. All payments will be made using Paypal.
