Inglis Plate, Warrnambool, Thursday May 7

Nominations for the inaugural Inglis Plate, a $100,000 race for graduates of the Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale, to be held at Warrnambool on Thursday, May 7, close 12pm tomorrow, Wednesday April 29.

On the back of some outstanding results recorded on the weekend at the 2009 Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale, the Inglis Plate is the third select sale race in the $2,500,000 Inglis Race Series, following on from the success of Fear No Other & Tale Of Love in the Inglis Classic and Inglis Premier earlier this year.

Restricted to horses that were offered at the 2008 Inglis Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale the 2009 Inglis Plate carries the same prizemoney level as the Listed Anzac Day Stakes for 2YO's on Flemington last Saturday, $100,000. With $60,000 for first place, down to $2,000 for 8th the Inglis Plate promises to add plenty of dash to Warrnambool Cup Day.

The Inglis Plate will be followed by a $100,000 Inglis Bonus on the 2yo Handicap at Hawkesbury on Hawkesbury Guineas Day, Saturday May 9.
