Inglis Premier Nominations Closing

Nominations for the $250,000 Inglis Premier (1200m), to be run at Caulfield, next Saturday February 28, close next Monday, February 23.

The race is restricted for horses nominated for the Inglis Race Series that were sold at last year’s Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Already this season, Premier juveniles have made their mark, headed by the three runners in tomorrow’s G1 $1M Blue Diamond, who are all eligible for the Inglis Premier – Rostova, Starspangledbanner and Reward For Effort.

Wednesday’s impressive Mornington $50,000 Inglis Bonus winner Tale Of Love is headed to the race, as is Elvstroem’s debut winner Viking Legend, who scored at Moonee Valley last Saturday.

The Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale continues to enjoy an outstanding run of success on the racetrack, with graduates having won 20 stakes races already in Australia this season, headed by the G1 winners Weekend Hussler and Littorio.

Premier’s influence also extended internationally overnight, with former Group 1 winner VALEDICTUM ($22,500 2002 Premier, 8g Umatilla-Wunderschoen) winning for the Danny O’Brien team in Dubai.

780 lots are catalogued for this year's Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, to be held at Oaklands from March 1-4. There have been no withdrawals as a result of the tragic fires that have devastated Victoria this month.
