Victoria’s first provincial Premier Saturday racemeeting at Bendigo this Saturday also sees the running of the next feature in the Inglis Race Series for three-year-olds.
A $50,000 Bonus will be paid by Inglis to connections should the winner of Race 8 – Bendigo Guineas (3YO, 1400m) be nominated to the Inglis Race Series.
Some lucky connections could walk away with almost $105,000 for a win in this inaugural running of the Bendigo Guineas, with first place prizemoney of $54,900 on offer in addition to the lucrative $50,000 Inglis Bonus plus Super VOBIS incentives.
Four horses are eligible to receive the $50,000 Inglis Bonus. These horses will be identified by wearing an Inglis blue saddlecloth in Saturday’s race.
Those eligible for the rich prize include last start Group 2 MRC Autumn Classic winner Upbeat. Trainer Anthony Cummings has elected to chase the Inglis Race Series riches in Bendigo with the Strategic gelding en route to Scone for his tilt at the $500,000 Inglis Guineas in May.
Another key contender for the $50,000 Inglis Bonus is the lightly raced Shanghai Warrior. From the astute Pat Hyland stable, the Elvstroem colt has won three races in five career starts and couldn’t have been more impressive scoring at Cranbourne’s first night meeting last Friday after failing to get a run as an emergency in the Group 1 Australian Guineas.
Horses eligible to receive the $50,000 Inglis Bonus in Saturday’s race and their sale price information are listed below.

Remaining opportunities to earn rewarding Inglis Race Series prizemoney include the $50,000 Inglis Bonus on the Albury Guineas (23 March) followed by the $500,000 Inglis Guineas at Scone (19 May), a race restricted to 3YOs nominated to the Inglis Race Series won by dual Group One winner Sincero in 2011.
