Inglis Race Series heads to Sale this Sunday

The lucrative Inglis Race Series ventures to the picturesque Sale Turf Club this Sunday for the running of the $100,000 Turnbull Toyota Inglis Trophy, which will be preceded by the auctioning of an unbroken two-year-old colt by Swettenham Stud stallion Host.

A 0-82 Handicap over 1400m the Inglis Trophy is restricted to three-year-olds nominated to the Inglis Race Series, and this year’s renewal has drawn another tough line-up headed by Anthony Cummings’ Rosehill winner Emerald Downs, who has been competing at Group 3 level lately.

Hawkesbury trainer Joan Pracey has travelled Upstacker down for a shot at the rich Inglis Race Series event, while Robbie Griffiths will be hoping Deeming can continue to progress after winning stylishly on debut at Mornington last week.

The inaugural Inglis Trophy in 2009 was won by slashing Lonhro colt Dissolved, who went on to score at stakes level at Flemington before being retired to stand at Eliza Park Stud.

Like the $250,000 Inglis Banner at Moonee Valley on Saturday, the winning owners of the 2011 Inglis Trophy will receive a $50,000 Inglis yearling sales voucher from Super VOBIS. This voucher may be redeemed on a Super VOBIS qualified yearling purchase at the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier or Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sales. Inglis will provide free entry to the $2.6m Inglis Race Series for the horse purchased using this voucher.

Inglis have also provided free entry to the Inglis Race Series for the two-year-old colt by Host from Loving Me that will be auctioned off by Simon Vivian after Race 5 at Sale this Sunday October 23.
