A second season of the $5m Inglis Xtra Bonus Series has concluded with a staggering $6.4m having been paid out to participants so far.
The Xtra Bonus Series was implemented two years ago with the aim of providing owners of Inglis graduates more opportunities to win more prizemoney, more often.
A total of 50 maidens annually Australia-wide – effectively one each week – carry the bonus, which sees an extra $100,000 paid to eligible winners, on top of regular race prizemoney and any respective State bonuses attached to the respective races.
To win the Inglis Xtra bonus, a horse simply needs to be an Inglis graduate from 2024 or beyond, aged three or older, be paid up for the $12m Inglis Race Series and win the eligible race.
The series has had an extraordinary reach in its short history – more than 560 owners have now been the beneficiary of the bonus, as have 47 individual trainers.
Bonuses have been won in NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and the ACT.
The Xtra Bonus Series is part of the wider $12m Inglis Race Series, for which nominations for the 2024-born foals close at 5pm today.
The series also includes the $2m Inglis Millennium, the $1m Pink Bonus Series, $750,000 Inglis Sprint, $400,000 Inglis Banner, $400,000 Inglis Nursery, $250,000 Inglis Bracelet and $200,000 Inglis Challenge.
“The most attractive part of the Inglis Race Series is the frequency with which prizemoney can be won and the volume of horses that are potential winners’’ Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch said.
“We get consistent feedback that this is exactly what people want – the opportunity to win more prizemoney more often and that’s been the focus of the Inglis Race Series the past two years especially.
“The Xtra Bonus Series has been described to me countless times as the ‘best promotion of the industry’ and ‘the best incentive of any Race Series going around’ and it’s feedback like that which gives us confidence that it is working well.
“It’s imperative people pay up for the Inglis Race Series to ensure they get access to all the extra prizemoney available to them. Registrations close at 5pm today (July 31) for all 2024-born foals and with the first Xtra Bonus maiden of the new season next week, there is no better time to engage with what we firmly believe is the best Race Series out there.’’
The next Inglis Xtra Bonus maiden is at Coffs Harbour on Cup Day next Friday, August 7.
Nominations for that race close 11am Monday.
