Inglis Scone Broodmare Entries Close Tomorrow

16th Jul 2008

Entries for the Inglis Scone Broodmare Sale, to be held at White Park on Friday August 29, are closing tomorrow, Friday July 18.

Last year’s inaugural Scone Broodmare Sale attracted strong support from both buyers and vendors, with a sale topper of $110,000 and a clearance rate of 82.5% with strong competition through all levels of bloodstock from breeders keen to secure mares close to the season.

“We were extremely pleased with this sale last year and the timing makes it a perfect opportunity to trade horses so close to the new breeding season,” Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

“It is also a time when many of the leading industry players are in the Hunter Valley for the annual stallion parade days and this was borne out in the excellent buying bench that assembled last year.”

Last year’s Scone Broodmare sale attracted international buyers from Hong Kong, South Africa and the Philippines, along with a domestic buying bench from New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, the ACT and Queensland, where the two highest priced lots went to.
