Inglis Victories Shine On The Coast

Inglis graduates Look To The Stars and Bewhatyouwannabe made their mark on the first major day of racing this season in Queensland, winning black type contests at the Sunshine Coast.

What is becoming another golden duo of Australian racing, Darby Syndications and David Vandyke enjoyed another exciting victory today with Inglis Scone filly Look To The Stars.

The three-year-old led an Inglis trifecta in the $100,000 Listed SCTC Princess Stakes over 1600m ahead of Queen Of Wands and Sahara Siren.

Look To The Stars (I Am Invincible x Star Prize) is the first Queensland winner for Vandyke, who has begun to relocate his stables from Warwick Farm to the Sunshine Coast this year.

The three-year-old filly has now earned in excess of $350,000 a far cry from her $26,000 purchase price for syndicators Darby Racing from the Yarraman Park Stud draft at the 2014 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.

Another five yearlings by hot sire I Am Invincible will be offered at the 2016 HTBA Scone Yearling Sale, Sunday 15 May at White Park.

The following black type contest on the same track was secured by Widden Stud graduate Bewhatyouwannabe, when he strode to victory in the $100,000 Listed SCTC Tails Stakes over 1600m.

After being reserved at $60,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Bewhatyouwannabe (Fastnet Rock x Bella Corona) was retained to race by Andrew and Lasca Bowcock.

The gelding has now taken his earnings past $350,000 for trainer Robert Heathcote.

Rounding out the day was three-year-old filly Divine Centuri (I Am Invincible x Witching Ways), flashing to the front to win the $100,000 Listed SCTC Mick Dittman Plate over 1000m.

A $46,000 purchase for her trainer and part-owner Stuart Kendrick from the Superhorse Trust draft at the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Divine Centuri took her earnings past $90,000 in her third win from five starts.

Book Two of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale will be held on Friday 6 May at the Inglis Newmarket Complex in Sydney.
