Today’s top Lot was a Zoustar x Belle Of The City colt (Lot 659), which Hawkes Racing bought from the Maluka Thoroughbreds draft for $150,000.

“The first day we saw him we liked him,’’ Wayne Hawkes said.

“We thought he was good value.’’

The Chairman’s Sale Breeding Prospects will be held at Riverside Stables on Thursday April 12, where a strong catalogue of almost 200 elite broodmares and weanlings will be offered.

The big two weeks of action will be wrapped up with the Australian Broodmare & Weanling Sale, also at Riverside Stables, from April 15-17.
