Classic Yearlings Start Arriving On Tuesday

Yearlings to be offered at the 2014 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale Summer Book are set to start arriving at Newmarket from next Tuesday 14 January.
480 lots have been catalogued for the outstanding value sale. Selling will commence at 10:00am on both Sunday 19 and Monday 20 January.

113 stallions are represented in the Summer Book, headed by red hot young sire I Am Invincible with 22 second crop progeny in the sale.
Star graduates Fiveandahalfstar (by Hotel Grand), Whobegotyou (by Street Cry), God’s Own (by Redoute’s Choice), Manawanui (by Oratorio (IRE)) and Choisir (by Danehill Dancer) were all were all purchased from the second crop of their respective sires at Classic.
Other second season sires represented in next week’s Summer Book include Nicconi (17), All American (12 lots), Onemorenomore (12), Denman (8) and Time Thief (7).
Proven sires Magic Albert (16 lots), Al Maher (15), Dane Shadow (13), Not A Single Doubt (12), Ad Valorem (12) and Choisir (10) all have double figure entries in the Summer Book.
Progeny of first crop stallions to be unveiled at Classic include a distinct element of colonial two-year-old speed with Beneteau (13), Star Witness (13), Tickets (12) and Hinchinbrook (8) all well represented.
Only horses offered at the Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale Summer and Winter Books are eligible for the $250,000 Inglis Classic race for two-year-olds, part of the $5 million Inglis Race Series.
First time owners claimed last year’s race with debutant Marseille Roulette.
This year’s running of the $250,000 Inglis Classic will be held at Royal Randwick on Saturday 18 January. Entries for the race close on Monday 13 January.
