Focus switches to Ready2Race Sale following today's Spring Thoroughbred Sale

7th Sep 2018

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale is the new focus for buyers following the completion of today’s Spring Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands.

At $90,000, last-start Caulfield winner Mutamayel (pictured) topped today’s sale, which ended with an 84% clearance rate from 114 horses catalogued.

Godolphin and Lindsay Park were the big winners from a vendor’s perspective, with Godolphin clearing all 10 of their offered Lots and Lindsay Park selling nine of their 10 offerings.

High Chaparral mare Keighran was purchased by Aquis Farm’s Head of Nominations NSW Jimmy Unwala for a client for $55,000.

Keighran will be served by Aquis stallion Spieth, for which the purchaser is a shareholder.

“She is a half sister to Champion sprinter and Horse of the Year Desert Eagle and her first dam fills the page,’’ Unwala said.

“Spieth is covering a real quality book of mares and we are supporting him with 40 of our very best mares, the likes of Star Shiraz, Omniscient and Our Girl Raquie.’’

Inglis’ next auction is the Ready2Race Sale at Riverside Stables on Monday October 15 - two days after The Everest - for which 183 2YOs have been catalogued.

Siblings to Group 1 winners, progeny of Group 1-winning mares and 2YOs by some of Australia’s leading stallions headline the catalogue.

Among the catalogue of 183 juveniles are horses by the likes of leading sires such as Fastnet Rock, Pierro, So You Think, Sebring, Written Tycoon, Zoustar, More Than Ready, Hinchinbrook, Nicconi, Spirit Of Boom, Tavistock and Not A Single Doubt as well as first season sires including Brazen Beau, Deep Field, Dissident, Hallowed Crown, Olympic Glory, Rubick, Sacred Falls, Shooting To Win and Toronado.

Breeze ups for the sale take place in Australia and New Zealand over the next fortnight at Cranbourne (Friday Sept 14), Taupo (Monday Sept 17) and Warwick Farm (Friday Sept 21).
