Kimillsy Tops Sydney Autumn Thoroughbred Sale

Group 1 placed filly Kimillsy topped today’s Sydney Autumn Thoroughbred Sale with a bid of $200,000 by trainer Kim Waugh.

The daughter of Danehill Dancer was offered as part of the Damion Flower dispersal, which also included the day’s second highest priced lot.

Waugh prepared Kimillsy to a consistent spring campaign, where she placed third in the Group 1 Flight Stakes, in addition to running second in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes and fourth in the G2 Wakeful and Furious Stakes.

In a strong day of trade, 225 horses sold for a gross of $1.26million at a healthy clearance rate of 93%.

The day’s second top lot came with the sale of Iglesia filly Stripdown, who sold to Inglis as Agent for a breeding syndicate that may elect to race her on.

Stripdown, already a Sydney winner in just five career starts to date, is a half-sister to outstanding dual Group 1 winning sprinter Gold Edition, from the Success Express mare Glimmers.

Horses passed in at today’s sale can still be purchased via the Inglis Make An Offer service, which also includes unsold lots from both the Sydney Classic and Melbourne Premier Yearling Sales.

The next Inglis Sale is the Melbourne March Thoroughbred Sale, which comprises 370 Lots to be sold over two sessions next Thursday March 12 and Friday March 13, with selling beginning at 11am.

That sale will be followed by the Australian Easter Yearling Sale, to be held at Newmarket from April 5-7.
