Breednet - Tara Madgwick - Tuesday, 12 April 2011
When a maiden wins by eight lengths it's worth taking note, especially when it's trained by David Hayes.
The horse in question is Fastnet Rock three year-old Mystic Tere Toa, who beat older horses to win the 2100 metre maiden at Echuca on a very heavy track by eight lengths at his third start.
Mystic Tere Toa (pictured as a yearling) was a $90,000 purchase from the Yarraman draft at the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and is a half-brother to Group I winner Apercu from the good producing Zabeel mare Making Fey.
Now the dam of five foals to race all winners, Making Fey had a General Nediym colt sell for Yarraman at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale last week for $290,000 to Guy Mulcaster Bloodstock.
