Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale Begins Next Sunday

The Inglis Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale, source of some of Australia's best value Group 1 winners in recent years, begins next Sunday, April 26 and runs over two days at Oaklands.

A catalogue of 373 Lots has been put together this year, with a vast array of proven and exciting young stallions represented.

$1.7Million earner Pompeii Ruler and fellow Group 1 winners Grand Journey and Lazer Sharp could all have been purchased for less than $20,000 out of this sale.

The trend continues this season, with exciting sprinter Secret Flyer and the seven times winner Rok Posta – both stakes winners at Flemington in January – costing just $29,000 and $20,000 respectively.

Next week's catalogue includes 13 youngsters by Bianconi, sire of last week's explosive G1 AJC The Galaxy winner Nicconi. Eliza Park's Bel Esprit recently had his Group 1 breakthrough with Bel Mer and he has 11 yearlings catalogued.

Other proven stallions include General Nediym, Hussonet, Rock Of Gibraltar, Secret Savings, Street Cry, Tale Of The Cat, Testa Rossa and the promising young sires Charge Forward, Elvstroem, Reset and Shamardal.

The who's who of first crop sires also have yearlings in the Autumn Sale, including Al Samer, Barely A Moment, Benicio, Domesday, God's Own, Jet Spur, Keep The Faith, Rakti, Snippetson, Snitzel, Starcraft and Stratum.

Graduates of this sale are eligible for the $2,500,000 Inglis Race Series, in addition to the $100,000 Autumn Plate, which is restricted to Autumn Yearling Sale graduates only.

The Autumn Yearling Sale will be followed by the HTBA Scone Yearling Sale on May 14, with the 212 lot catalogue now online.
