Metro Win for Moshe

Breednet - Tara Madgwick - Saturday, 27 November 2010

Black Caviar’s baby brother Moshe maintained his unbeaten record with another win at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Trained by Hawkes Racing, Moshe led throughout as he did when winning on debut at Bendigo on November 11, kicking on in the straight to win the Ratings 72 event over 1000 metres by the best part of a length.

“He's just a big kid,” said Wayne Hawkes.

“He did a good job. The other horse was coming but Dwayne gave him a couple and he really put his ears back and won again.”

Moshe has been given time to mature and the Hawkes team are happy to take the Bel Esprit colt along steadily and will let the dust settle before making further plans.

Purchased for just $75,000 from the Swettenham draft at the 2009 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, he was considerably less expensive than his famous older sister Black Caviar (pictured) who was bought from the same sale for $210,000 the year before.

His dam Helsinge has a colt by Casino Prince entered for the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and produced a filly by Redoute’s Choice this spring.
