Meanwhile, there is self-inflicted pressure for the owner of 4YO Mongolian Khan, the short-priced favourite for tomorrow's Caulfield Cup in Melbourne who has drawn perfectly in barrier nine after his fast-finishing third last week in the Caulfield Stakes.
His owner, Lang Lin, who's made his money in fast-food restaurants in northern China, has made it clear that a great Caulfield Cup performance would only be a stepping stone to bigger wins.
Lang Lin told the Herald Sun that his dream, since he was really young, was to have a horse which could run in the Melbourne Cup.
"I have been playing in this industry for quite a long while and I have a lot of friends who are also in the racing industry, so since I was young I have heard of the Melbourne Cup as a champion turf race, with the most prize money in the world."
A comprehensive victory tomorrow for the New Zealand star would see his Melbourne Cup odds shorten appreciably from the tempting each-way price currently on offer.
