New Managing Director for William Inglis & Son

The Australasian Bloodstock industry’s Oldest and Largest auctioneers, William Inglis and Son, today announced the appointment of 39-year-old business executive Mark Webster to the position of Managing Director.

The appointment, to take effect by July 16, follows a search over several months utilising the services of a specialist consulting team.

Mr Webster comes from a senior position within News Limited where he has successfully led digital and print media businesses over the past 8 years. As General Manager of Nationwide News Limited for 3 years from 2003, Mark was responsible for 1600 employees and the profit performance of The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Australian and The Sportsman. Since early 2006, Mark has been responsible for the sale and distribution of all News Ltd newspapers and magazines with over $500m revenues.

Previously, Mark had a distinguished 12 year career in the Royal Australian Navy, graduating as Dux of the Naval College and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander in minimum time.

Mark has long had a passion for the Bloodstock industry and is also a hands-on horseman. He said, “ I have been a racing and breeding enthusiast all my life. I am delighted to have been selected for the Inglis position, and am looking forward to applying my business experience in the thoroughbred sector.”

Mark is married to Natasha, his partner for 21 years. They have two daughters and a son and live, surrounded by horses, on a property at Appin.
