New VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale for Victoria

In another initiative to assist both buyers and sellers of yearlings in Australia, Inglis, with the support of Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) and Super VOBIS, is delighted to launch the Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale to be conducted at Oaklands in Melbourne on 28 & 29 April 2013.

The two day sale will comprise a Select Session of only Super VOBIS (Victorian Owners and Breeders Incentive Scheme) qualified yearlings followed by a General Session of Super VOBIS and non-Super VOBIS yearlings.

“VOBIS Gold was a very big talking point at both of Inglis’ Select Yearling Sales in Melbourne this year and with the stallion and broodmare ranks in the State on the improve we felt it necessary to increase our support of the local industry by committing to a VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale,” said Inglis Melbourne Director Peter Heagney.

“We are very fortunate that TBV and Racing Victoria share our passion for continued growth in the local breeding and racing industry, and are pleased to be able to focus a sale around yearlings eligible for the very lucrative Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold bonus scheme here in Melbourne,” Heagney said.

Designed to maximise market interest in Victorian bred horses and increase their racetrack earnings, Super VOBIS is an internationally recognised incentive scheme. With the recent addition of VOBIS Gold, a total of $18 million in bonuses will be on offer in Victoria each year; including an annual $1million Restricted Race Series exclusively for VOBIS Gold qualified horses aged two to four years.

Under the scheme, the owner of a qualified horse winning a standard $12,000 Victorian country race with a VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS bonus attached will collect $25,235 compared to $6,825 for an unqualified horse.

Similarly in Melbourne, the owner of a qualified horse winning a standard Saturday metropolitan race with a VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS bonus attached will collect $72,800 compared to $42,700 for an unqualified horse.
