New VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale starts Sunday

Supplementary entries have bolstered the catalogue for the new Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale to 366 lots, which will be offered at Oaklands on 28 & 29 April 2013.

200 Select Session yearlings that are already paid up for Super VOBIS will be offered on Sunday 28 April. The 166 lot General Session of Super VOBIS and non-Super VOBIS yearlings will then be offered on Monday 29 April.

Entry into the lucrative VOBIS Gold is made very simple at the sale. Buyers of Super VOBIS qualified yearlings simply need to sign a pre-populated nomination form and submit it along with a payment for $1,100 by the 30 June nomination closing date.

VOBIS Gold thoroughbreds receive exclusive entry in the VOBIS Gold Race Series and they also race for up to 350 lucrative prizemoney bonuses all year round into the fourth, fifth and even sixth year of their racing career.

Under the VOBIS Gold Scheme the owner who wins a standard $15,000 Victorian Country Maiden with a VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS bonus attached will take home a total $27,410. That’s more than three-times the normal first prize of $9,000.

Similarly, in Melbourne, the owner of a qualified horse winning a standard $80,000 Saturday metropolitan race with a VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS bonus attached will collect a total $78,100.

The sires of supplementary entries catalogued include Flying Spur, Reset, Duke Of Marmalade, Starcraft, Nicconi and Rock Of Gibraltar. These are on top of an already strong main catalogue which features the progeny of proven sires and exciting young stallions such as Bel Esprit, Statue Of Liberty, Written Tycoon, Domesday, Bianconi, Desert King, Not A Single Doubt, Hard Spun, Magnus, New Approach, O’Lonhro, Soldier’s Tale, Shinzig, Host, Turffontein, Von Costa de Hero and Sebring.

Last Saturday’s feature winner at Caulfield Speediness is a great example of the top quality Victorian bred gallopers that can be snapped up at very reasonable prices from Inglis yearling sales at Oaklands. The son of Testa Rossa was purchased for just $18,000 and victory in the Listed MRC Pink Ribbon Cup took his earnings past $340,000.

Bold Eavey is another great purchase defying her bargain price, with the $6,500 yearling sale buy earning $60,000 when taking out the Inglis Gold Plate for two-year-olds on Saturday.
