Nominations for $50k Inglis Bonus at Grafton Close Tomorrow

The $2.6 million Inglis Race Series heads north to Grafton for Cup Day on Thursday July 15, with nominations closing at 11am tomorrow (Thursday July 8) for the CRJC Inglis Bonus Plate for two-year-old's.

A $50,000 bonus will be paid by Inglis to the winner should they be Inglis Race Series qualified.

The Grafton Bonus is one of over twenty races in the Inglis Race Series for 2009 yearling sale graduates which culminate in the Inglis Guineas for three-year-olds at Scone, which this year was worth $770,000.

“The $50,000 Grafton Bonus was taken out by the Tim Martin trained The Mikado last season who took home over $77,000 in prizemoney and bonuses for the win," said Inglis Commercial Development Manager Matt Rudolph.

“He was a $25,000 Easter bargain and a great example of how lucrative the concept can be for people targeting these events.

"At just over the halfway mark of the second series we've had some great success stories of bargain purchases from as little as $4,500 and $8,000 taking home cheques above $50,000 from the series.

"The sweepstake nature of the series ensures that everything that is paid into the scheme from nominations is distributed through bonus races and prizemoney.

"That's how we arrived at a final pool of $770,000 for this year's inaugural Inglis Guineas.

"I don't think we'll be near that mark for the Inglis Guineas in 2011 as we have had a greater strike rate of bonuses going off so far in the current series, but we've got quite a few more to go before then so we'll see."

After Grafton The Inglis Race Series then turns its attention to two-year-old events at Caulfield and Rosehill on July 17 and July 31 respectively with $100,000 bonuses on offer in each race.

Connections of yearlings that were offered at Inglis Select Yearling Sales in 2010 have until July 31 to enter the next Inglis Race Series. Nominations Forms can be downloaded HERE
