Oamaru Dispersal At Easter Broodmare Sale

15th Feb 2006

The 2006 William Inglis Easter Broodmare sale will feature the dispersal of bloodstock owned by Ray Orloff - breeder of the late Champion racehorse and sire Rubiton.

The Racing Victoria board member will offer 20 mares from his Oamaru Stud at the two-day broodmare sale that takes place on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 April.

At the same sale a certain highlight will be the final draft from the dispersal of the Written Bloodstock Syndicate.

Among some well-bred types the defunct syndicate’s receivers will offer, is multiple Group winner Our Egyptian Raine and the former South African Champion juvenile Paraca.

Also in the early entries for the sale is the stakes-winning Redoute’s Choice filly Chic Choice.

The positioning of the Weanling and Broodmare sale immediately following the Easter Yearling sale allows vendors access to an extensive buying bench. William Inglis have already had a huge response from overseas buyers extending their stay to include the breeding stock sales.

Entries for the Easter Weanling and Broodmare sale are scheduled to close next week.

“Following on from 2005 which saw Mannington set a new Australasian record $2.05million for a broodmare and a sale average of $80,000 over all three days, the Easter Broodmare sale is without doubt the number one venue to be offering breeding stock for sale in 2006,” said Inglis Director Jonathan D’Arcy

“We have also had a great response from vendors to our rescheduled Weanling sale. There is no better time to be selling weanlings than hot on the heals of Australasia’s best yearling sale.”
